This way you will no longer have to worry about breed status not including your ponies. The sooner this is done it will show the Animal Pedigree Act that there are enough documented Newfoundland Ponies to warrant the Breed Association.
For your first pony the cost is $31.00 and if you send more than one ponies papers in at the same time just add $21.00 more per pony (5% GST included)

Q. Why would you want this?
A. Your Newfoundland Pony/ponies will be on record. None will be lost and the numbers in these records will show that there are enough ponies with genealogy to have a proper designation as Breed secured.
Q. Why do we want this pony recognized as a Breed?
A. This will give protection to the Breeders and the purchasers as well as to the ponies. It will establish that this pony is worthy of recognition not only in Newfoundland but all of Canada and the world.
Q. Can this be done now?
A. YES. CLRC is a private non-profit corporation that has been serving the Canadian livestock industry continually since 1905. The organization is incorporated under the Animal Pedigree Act, which is the federal legislation that regulates the keeping of all pedigree records in Canada for registered animals. CLRC’s CANADIAN INDENTIFICTION PROJECT (CAN ID) allows animals to receive a certificate when they do not qualify under the Animal Pedigree Act with a Canadian breed association. This is to record the Newfoundland ponies prior to an Incorporated Breed Association being granted.
Breed Status has not yet been accomplished, the Newfoundland Pony is still in danger of extinction as the numbers are not increasing because of lack of full recognition giving them status as a Breed. To just have a paper saying it is a Heritage Animal of Newfoundland has not given these ponies full recognition as pedigree.
We ask you to become involved with us. This is a brand new way of recognition of the Newfoundland pony. We ask you to let us know that 'Yes' you want your pony/ponies records through us and it is not expensive.
We have enclosed a form to be filled in both sides and return to us along with a full photo with the small fee of $20.00 per pony, plus GST Postage and Handling: Total = $31.00. If you own more than one pony, you need a form for each one and if sent all at one time along with the $21.00 (5% GST included) per pony and only one payment of $10. for PH payable to Newfoundland Pony Breed Assoc. and you will receive your Deluxe Certificate of record with your pony’s Photograph, and a Gold Seal.
